❤️ Build Confidence: Try the Kindness Kick Challenge This Week
One kind word helped a student come back and try again. Here’s how to pass it on.
Hello parents & Friends,
Welcome back to your second Family Kick moment with me, Master Hong.
Last week, we stood tall. This week, we lift someone else up.
🧾 How to Use This
For Parents:
Share this story during breakfast or after school. Talk about the reflection questions and use the challenge to spread kindness at home or school.
For Teachers:
Use this story during morning meetings, SEL (Social Emotional Learning) time, or writing class. Challenge students to complete one “Kind Kick” this week and track their progress together.
👊 Wisdom from Master Hong: Kindness kicks fear out of the way.
At a recent belt ceremony, a student named Max didn’t break his board.
He looked down. His hands dropped. Tears started to well up.
Before I could step in, another student walked over, put a hand on his shoulder, and said:
“You’ll break it next time. I didn’t get mine the first try either.”
Max looked up. Nodded. Smiled.
He came back to the next class and broke that board clean through.
All because someone shared their strength through kindness.
💭 Reflection from Master Hong
“When kids encourage each other, they don’t just lift others—
They grow taller, too.”
Ask your child or class:
“When has someone helped you feel braver with their words?”
“Who could you encourage this week?”
🏠 Family Kick Mission: The Kindness Kick Challenge
This week, create a Kindness Kick Chart at home or school.
Each time someone:
Gives a compliment
Encourages someone
Helps without being asked
…give them a point.
Try to reach 10 points as a family or class by the end of the week. Celebrate with a high-five cheer—or an “act of awesome” surprise!
😂 Family Kick Laugh Break: Parent Joke of the Week
Q: Why did the toddler bring a ladder to the dinner table?
A: Because they heard the steaks were high!

📬 Enjoyed this laugh? Forward it to a fellow parent who needs a smile.

Let’s keep kicking forward—together.
