✅The Compliment That Changed the Whole Room

🎁This week’s mission helps your child build confidence—by sharing it with others.

Hello parents & teachers,

Have you ever watched someone’s entire face change…
just because of a kind word?

This week’s mission is about that kind of power.

Because one compliment can lift the room.
And one confident kid can lift others.

😂 Parent Joke of the Week

Q: Why do kids love giving compliments?
A: Because “you’re awesome” gets them out of chores.
(And sometimes… it works 😄)

😊 Week 7 Mission: The Compliment Chain Challenge

Let me tell you about Ava.

Ava is 10. Friendly. Curious. Always watching.

One day after class, she told me:
“Jason’s really good at jump kicks. I want to tell him, but it feels weird.”

“Why weird?” I asked.

She shrugged. “I don’t want him to think I like him or something…”

I laughed gently.

“Well, let’s start small. Try giving one kind compliment today. Just one.”

The next day, Ava walked in, looked at Jason, and said,
“Your kick looked really strong yesterday.”

He blinked.
“Thanks,” he mumbled—then stood a little taller.

Later that class, Jason helped a younger student practice her kicks.
Then that younger student gave a compliment to her partner.
It was like kindness started bouncing around the room.

After class, Ava whispered,
“It actually felt good to say it.”

Here’s what we saw:
One compliment didn’t just make someone feel better.
It made the whole space kinder. Lighter. More connected.

Kindness isn’t just nice—it’s contagious.

🧾 How to Use This Week’s Mission

For Parents:
Challenge each family member to give one sincere compliment every day this week.
To a sibling, a friend, a teacher—even a stranger.
Keep a tally. Notice how it feels.

For Teachers:
Start a “compliment chain” in your classroom.
Each child gives one kind word to another student.
Please keep it going all week, and watch the energy change.

💭 Reflection from Master Hong

“Confidence grows fastest when we lift others along the way.”

Ask your child or student:
• “What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?”
• “What’s something kind you’ve wanted to say but haven’t yet?”

P.S. If you missed the Week 1 newsletter about helping your child increase confidence with the Power Pose, I made a short video; please watch it.

🔜 Coming Next Week...

What happens when kids help before being asked?

In Week 8, you’ll see how one unexpected act of helpfulness turned a whole class into quiet leaders.

Until then, keep kicking forward—and let kindness speak first.
You never know who needs it most.

A mom from Herriman, Utah shared:
“My daughter started writing compliments on sticky notes and leaving them around the house. I found one on the fridge that said, ‘You’re a strong mom.’ I cried in the kitchen.”
