✅When It Feels Like Everything’s Falling Apart...

🎁This week’s Korean wisdom offers one powerful reminder: even when the sky is falling, there’s a way through.

🧠 Kick Your Life™: Wisdom from Korea – Week 8

“Even if the sky falls, there is a hole to escape through.”

💬 A Note from Master Chris Hong

Hello Parents & Teachers,

Have you ever had one of those days—or even seasons—when everything feels like it’s crashing down?

Plans fall apart.
Unexpected bills arrive.
You lose your temper with your child or feel completely overwhelmed.
And the thought creeps in:
“Maybe this time… I won’t bounce back.”

But this week’s Korean proverb reminds us:

“Even if the sky falls, there is a hole to escape through.”

In other words:
No matter how heavy the problem is, there’s always a way forward.

A Life Story

Jin was a single mother working two part-time jobs.
One day, her car broke down on the same morning her child got sick, and her rent was due.
Everything felt impossible—like the sky was falling.

She cried in the grocery store parking lot, wondering how she’d get through the week.

Then her neighbor offered to drop her son off at school.
A friend gave her a ride to work.
Her manager let her pick up a shift on Sunday.

Nothing changed overnight.
But she found air.
She found space.
She found her next step.

And step by step, she made it through.

Sometimes the “hole in the sky” doesn’t appear all at once.
But it’s there—if you keep looking for light.

📖 This Week’s Korean Wisdom

“Even if the sky falls, there is a hole to escape through.”

This isn’t just a message of optimism.
It’s a reminder that solutions don’t have to be perfect—just possible.

There is always a next step, no matter how small.

🛠️ Try This with Your Family or Classroom

Ask your kids or students:

  • Have you ever felt like something was “too big” to fix?

  • What helped you feel better or find a way forward?

Then do this:

Create a “Hope Map” together:
Draw or write three possible next steps someone could take when:

• They fail a test
• They fight with a friend
• They feel anxious or overwhelmed

Keep the map somewhere visible.
Sometimes kids need to be reminded: you’re never stuck forever.

Your Weekly Kick Plan

This week, when something feels too big:

  • Pause and name the problem

  • Write down just one small thing you can do

  • Ask for help—yes, even for something tiny

  • Repeat this phrase to yourself or your kids:
👉 “Even if the sky falls, there is a way out.”

🌿 Remember

The problem may feel big, but hope is stronger.
You don’t need to solve everything today.
You need to believe that the next step exists.

Let this week’s wisdom help you breathe again.
